Q: What types of files can be uploaded?
A: Any type of file can be uploaded, with some site level restrictions. Restrictions can be added or removed upon request.
Q: Is there a file size limit on individual files?
A: No, but keep in mind that larger files and/or lower bandwidth may cause file uploads to time out.
Q: What kind of virus protection is in place?
A: All files are scanned using Sophos PLC's security software.
Q: What kind of bandwidth is required for your service?
A: Typically a T-1 is average for a school.
Q: How much storage space do users get?
A: There is no limit on file storage.
Q: What if a user forgets his/her username and password?
A: Both administrators and teachers have the ability to look up usernames and passwords and change them. If the user has chosen to add an email address to their profile, they can have it emailed it to them. If not, the user can call or send us an email and we will look it up for them.
Q: Can I use School Web Lockers on an iPad?
A: Yes, the DirectSave feature allows users to download, edit and upload documents to their locker on their iPad with Pages, Keynote, Numbers and Office HD.
Q: What kind of protection do you have on your servers?
A: All servers are clustered at a co-location in San Diego at level tier 1.
Q: Can we host the solution on our servers?
A: Unfortunately not. School Web Lockers hosts everything to free up your servers and minimize administrative work.
Q: Is there a minimum number of users required?
A: No, although if you are looking for just a few users or an individual account, My Web Lockers is a more cost-effective alternative. For $5 per user per year and no setup fee, users have access to all the same School Web Lockers features.
Q: Are you E-Rate eligible?
A: Yes, School Web Lockers is 20 percent eligible under Priority 1 and Web Hosting. The SPIN is 143032010.
Q: What is the setup fee?
A: The setup fee is a one-time only cost of $700 for creating your site.
One setup fee is charged per site and one site is recommended per
district.
Q: What do you need to get our school/district set up?
A: All that is needed is a data extract from your student information system. No confidential information is required.
Q: How long does it take to get set up?
A: Once the data extract from your student information is received, your site can be up and running in two weeks or less.
